Longtime Guest Spotlight: Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lynne Meisch of Marietta, GA
Bob and Lynne Meisch have spent so many celebrations at The Reefs, they have lost count of their trips. The Meischs spent their first visit to The Reefs dining at Coconut's for their 20th anniversary. They have since returned at least 15 times, most recently to ring in 2014.
Mr. and Mrs. Meisch are no strangers to Bermuda. They first came to Bermuda for their honeymoon and over the years they spent vacations at resorts across the island with their children. In 1990, they celebrated their 20th anniversary at a Hamilton resort and came to Coconut's for dinner one evening. The views, the food, and the atmosphere were so incredible that they vowed to return. Their next trip to The Reefs was five years later, for their 25th anniversary.
The Meischs' most fond memory from The Reefs occurred in 2000 when the couple returned for their 30th anniversary, the first time they were at the resort on their wedding date, June 6. As the couple settled into their cliffside room and Bob surprised Lynne with a stunning diamond ring. Lynne was extremely shocked and thrilled. They later met friends, who were in on the surprise, for celebratory champagne and toast to their anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Meisch have returned for special occasions, couples trips with friends, and most recently, they have started a tradition of celebrating each New Year in Bermuda. For more than a decade, Bob and Lynne have taken a two and a half hour flight from Atlanta to Bermuda on Dec. 28.
When they arrive, the Meischs are greeted by our staff who they have gotten to know over the years. They also know about two-thirds of the guests on property during this time from previous vacations. Their New Year's Eve tradition now includes waking up to take a cool dip in the ocean with David Jr. and fellow guests. That evening, the Meischs ring in the New Year with the same group they have celebrated with for five years.
Bob and Lynne have made many lifelong friends at The Reefs over the past 18 years. Their group has discussed trying different resorts on the island, but always end up at The Reefs.
We at The Reefs feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to provide a memorable and authentic Bermuda experience to such a wonderful couple year after year. We look forward to welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Meisch back to their home away from home this Dec. 28!Read other posts
